The gravel crunching up the driveway was the only thing he heard as he rolled the window down to see if anyone was there. Of course someone was there, Vicky, she said she would be all day. Shaking his head at the foolishness of his thoughts, he cut the engine as he pulled up the the workout rings. Stepping out of the truck, he closed the door and walked ot the back of the trailer. A low rumble came from the inside as he unlatched the trailer door. Smiling at Carcinals excitement, it filled him also as he saw the snow white filly again. Clucking to her softly, she stopped moving around and listened to him as he moved forward. Stepped across the horse manure that had built up on the way over, he patted her rump and walked to her head. Unlatching her form the trailering bungee, he clipped her white and black lead to her halter ring and unlatched the divider.
Stepping forward, he lead her out the trailer door quietly. Turning and closing it behind him, he heard her whinny out her welcome. Shaking her muzzle gently, he laughed at her softly, tying her to the trailer. She needed a quick brushing before Vicky showed up. walking to the truck again, he grabbed a soft bristled dandy brush and a comb and set to work. Combing through her short, but thick mane, he inspected the stables around him. It was a big place, and suited nicely, he thought. Finished with the mane, he grabbed the dandy and worked on removing traveling dust from her coat. Stepping to her rump, hr grabbed the comb again and combed down the fluff she had on her ivory tail. Finishing the brushing, he sat on the trailer side and waited for Vicky.

It had been a few hours since Vicky had met the owner of Carcinals Pride, the brilliant white filly who had obviously captured her full attention. There hadn't been much to do except muck out a few stalls and straighten up the office. That seemed to be the only filthy room in the barn at this point. Vicky had moved things around and cleaned it from top to bottom, satisfied with how spotless the place was. It was now welcoming and friendly, just as she wanted the barn to be portrayed. It may not be HER barn in reality, but she wanted the place to bustle with activity if she was to board there. Barn friends were just as important as good horses and business for the place.
It was finally time to meet the filly. Vicky turned to look at the clock. It was early evening. Since it was summer, it was still a bit light out, but a soft glow from the setting sun grew around the barn. It was gorgeous watching the sun go down at night. A soft, warm breeze wafted through the aisles, blowing Vicky's hair gently. The perfect weather for riding. It wasn't too hot, as it often was during the day. Pride's owner picked a good time to bring her down. He would also be seeing the facilities at it's best, with beautiful surroundings.
The crunch of gravel in the driveway was the only sound that bounced in her head as Vicky briskly walked towards the entrance. As she began walking towards where the trailer was parked, she watched Pride's owner lovingly groom her up. The filly was gorgeous, just as stunning as her picture that Vicky observed earlier. Simply beautiful. She seemed calm in her new surroundings and was loving the attention from her "man". It was a joy to watch. As Vicky sped up, she shifted the tack she held in her arms to a more comfortable position. Once she reached the trailer, she greeted Pride's owner with a smile, before moving over to the english arena fenceline and neatly put the tack there for now. She went back over to Pride and her owner and shook his hand. "Good to see you found the place alright. She looks fantastic. Just as gorgeous as in the photos," Vicky grinned, showing his owner that she thought extremely highly of this filly. It was sad to think that such a good horse owner was selling his horse, but Vicky would be offering him a good sum of money for her if she turned out just as good under saddle. "So, is she all set to tack up??" Her question hung in the air as she moved towards the mare calmly. She outstretched her hand towards her to sniff, waiting for the mare to accept her scent and prescense (sp?).

Coming out of his reverie, he stood and shook hands with her. Watching her put her tack up on the railing he said,
Yes, found the place just fine, very nice also. Thank you, just finished brushing her so she looks all the better.
He looked torwards Carcinal and laughed. The filly had realized they were talking about her and was bobbing her head up and down with her lips open. grabbing the filly`s muzzle and shaking it gently again, he kissed her nose and turned back to Vicky.Watching Carcinal as she stretched out her hand for her to smell, he saw the bond quickly grow. The filly quickly thrust her muzzle into her hand and blew loudly, taking in her scent quickly. Seeing she ment no harm, she walked as far as the lead would let her and shoved her head into her chest, wanted attention. Smiling at that, he patted her neck and said,
Sure, shes all ready.

Vicky just laughed with him, running her eyes over the mare in front of her. She was beautiful and very calm for being in someplace completely new. Her head bobbed in every direction, almost seeming as if she knew they were talking about her. She probably recognized her name. Vicky ran her opposite hand over the mare's shoulder slowly, ending it with a pat. She quickly reached forward to sniff Vicky beofore pushing her head into Vicky's lap. "She's such a sweetheart," Vicky exclaimed, scratching her foreheard.
With a final rub on her soft muzzle, Vicky went back towards the fenceline to retriever her tack. She strung the bridle over a part of the trailer gently and quietly, so as not to spook Pride. She gently laid down her sky blue rectangular pad, followed by her white half-pad. She rubbed Pride's neck to keep her calm and still as she placed the dark brown jumping saddle on top of the pads and let the girth drop down carefully. Another rub. She did up the strap slowly, leaving some room to tighten it once they were in the ring. She picked up the bridle with the thick D-ring snaffle in it, carefully un-doing Pride's halter and slipping the reins over her head. She took the bridle in one hand and held the bit in the other and offered it to the mare. She waited patiently for her to open up and then their tacking up would be complete.

Stepping back from the new pair in front of him, he went to his truck once again. reaching into the back, he pulled a small folding chair from. Walking to the side of the small ring, he placed it and folded it open to watch them. Seeing her take her tack to the mare, he knew the saddling and bridling part would the easiest thing. But would Carcinal accept another rider upon her back?

Snorting, she loved the petting she was getting, all the attention was something she was used to. Shaking her head again to itch a fly, she felt the saddle being placed upon her back and the cinch being tightned a bit. Turning to watch the girl who was going to rid eher, she watched her with intelligent eyes. Seeing her pick the bridle up and introduce the bit to her, she opened her maw and waited for the metal ring to be placed in her mouth.

Vicky was pleased with how easy the mare was to bridle. She opened her mouth pleasantly and accepted the bit calmly. Vicky didn't have to fight, or even to use her fingers to press into her tongue to coax her to open up. "Good girl, Pride," Vicky praised, rubbing her neck again and playing with her mane a bit. She was already starting to like this mare alot and had a good feeling. Fixing her half-chaps a bit, Vicky checked the girth again and turned to lead Pride into the ring. "I like how easy she is to tack up. She's very well-behaved," she smiled to her owner as she opened up the gate and carefully led Pride around it before closing it behind her. She pat her again softly and moved towards the mounting block. Her hand ran over the mare's shoulder gently, warning her that she was going to tighten the girth one more hole. She checked it was satisfied, and ran down the stirrups which were already even and at Vicky's perfect length.
She lined her up to the mounting block, slowly put the reins over her head, and stepped up the block to mount. She put one foot into the stirrup and held it there, seeing if Pride would move. She leaned up as if she were going to swing her leg over but just held herself suspended from the one stirrup to see if Pride would stand still or not. This was just a test of patience on her part. Some horses were just high-strung or excited about their work and would move, which was fine, but Vicky was just trying to evaluate Pride's personality and quirks furthur. She swung her leg over and sat tall in the saddle, pushing her heels down. She picked up the reins, shortening them a bit but leaving some slack for the warm-up. She nudged gently with her heels and clucked a bit, asking for a walk. As they began moving, Vicky's inside leg pressed against Pride's stomach, pushing her over towards the rail.

She thingyed her crania as she got warning every time before something happened. A pat on the neck for accepting the peice of metal she had found at ease with, a few seconds before the girl got on, and of course a slow walk to start with. Snorting with the excitement of a good warmup she could feel she would get out of this, she stepped out briskly and flashy as if she was in the arena. Feeling the leg on her lean rib cage, she stepped over a few steps, crossing her fore pistons in front of one another to stay in balance with the rest of her long body. Shaking her head, she flared her nostrils as the barn came alive. Rolling her orbs she looked around and saw other equines peek over the hills in the pasture. Letting out a low rumble, she walked on and waited for the next signal.
