description, aiyana has the appearance of your typical mustang. She's short and stocky, with a low-set tail, hard hooves that rarely need shoeing, and nice head profile. Her coat coloring is your typical grulla, with a dorsal stripe and even some bold stripes on her upper legs. And, of course, a BLM brand on her neck.
attitude, aiyana acts very average for a wild horse gone tame. She responds well to your body language, is very sensitive to how your feeling, spooks at paper bags, other people on horses, and planes. Hot air balloons are also on the list. She's very good under the saddle as well, and makes an amazing trail horse.
past, aiyana was born in the mountains of Montana, and spent the first two years of her life wild and free. When she was two years old, she was rounded up with the rest of her herd, and was put up for auction while the rest of her family was released. Aiyana was bought by a college girl, who trained her all by herself, and did a really good job. For the next four years, Aiyana lived in paradise on a 25-acre ranch, and made two trips with the girl back to her homeland. But with money tight, her owner has been forced to sell this wonderful mare.
example, There was an onimous feeling in the air, and Aiyana wished her family had decided to graze in the canyon that day. Then maybe it would have missed them. But it didn't miss anyone.
The two year old filly threw up her dial, as did her mother, father, and the other mares and foals in their large family. Auds were pricked, for a humming sound was heard. The older horses tossed thier dials, thier long, untrimmed tassles flying skyward. They knew of this noise, but Aiyana didn't. But the little grulla knew it was bad when the harem bolted down the steep slope. The fem turned her crown, and saw a large piece of metal, suspended by a propeller, but it looked to her like a large spider on top of it. It made a humming noise like that of a thousand bees. And it came right at her.
Aiyana bolted, galloping as fast as she could down the mountain. Other family groups and gangs of bachelour stallions joined her band's flight, all driven by fear of the great monster. It drove them down miles, down through a canyon and through the desert to the mountain lowlands. Aiyana felt like she could go no further, but it was a choice between exaustion and almost certain death, and the mustang kept going. Fences suddenly surrounded her, and a horse wearing ropes on it's dial was released ahead of them. Instinct told Aiyana and the other wild ones to follow this horse, who cantered down the fenceline with a purpose.
Other horses with strange two-legged creatures on thier backs and wearing straps of leather all about them were all around her, the monsters upon them waving paper bags on sticks at her, keeping her moving. The fear was too much when the horses were suddenly piled in a large round pen. The whinnies were defeaning. The grulla mare reared up high, trying to escape. But it was to no avail. Her auds flicked back as she heard the gate close.
And freedom was swept away.
