Show Name: Lunimaria
Barn Name: Luna
Age: 5 years old
Gender: Mare
Height: 16.2 hh
Breed: Oldenburg
Riding Discipline(s): 3 Day Eventing, Showjumping
Physical Description: Lunimaria is a tall, beautiful mare, with a deep rich bay coat. Her mane is long, reaching to the middle of her strong neck. Her forlock can reach infront of her eyes, but she normally manages well. Her tail has been banged and reaches the top of her hocks. Her conformation is near perfection, only that her back is a little shorter than usual. It does not affect her performance however. She has greatly toned legs. Her coat is healthy and shiny. She has the traditional bay colored legs, with long black stockings that reach to above her knees. She is a strong mare that delivers a smooth ride and a quick pace. Her face has a slight dish to it, rather than the normal Oldenburg nose. She is pure however, and would make any Oldenburg proud. She is a gorgeus mare, that will sure to pass her great lineage and appearance down to her foals. There is no faults to her- except her back. But, she is muscular and a great mover.
Psychological Description: Lunimaria is a very high strung mare, especially when she is in heat. She is fast and has a great liking for jumping that will make her never refuse a fence. Only, to stop her from loving to jump would be to be hard on her mouth and give hard and heavy cues. Listen to her, she'll tell you if you are right for her. She dislikes to be ridden in extreme hot weather. She has a very soft mouth and is sensitive, she will take the slightest of cues. Overall, she is a lovely mare, but watch out, she is quirky and fast. Bond with her well, and she'll always be there for you. She'll protect you, win for you and work with you just for you. This is a horse that you can get more with sugar than vinegar. She'll settle if she knows you. She is almost a one person horse. Make sure that one person is you if you decide to buy her. She will do anything for you.
History: Lunimaria was bred at a small farm close to Whitecross. The owner's daughter was supposed to turn her into a pleasure horse, but Luna longed to do things more exciting. She turned to jumping out of her pastures for fun, and galloping around the trails. She was uncontrollable. The little girl didn't understand and soon, they sold the troublesome bay mare. However, an interested buyer told them that she would perhaps one day become a great showjumper. She was sold to him and was trained in jumping. She became strong at jumping and became more manageable. Soon, her new owner became her master and she even protected him agains a herd of coyotes when he fell off in the middle of a cross country course. She was injured at that time, and she needed to get back to training. To reinforce her technique, her owner taught her dressage as well. However, he is running out of money, showing her. His farm suffered a terrible virus in which Luna miraculously survived. Now, he is selling her to make a profit and to get his life back on track. Luna will need to learn to trust again.
Example Post:
The mare reared up onto her hind haunches, hitting hte air with her strong forlegs as if it was her enemy. She whinnied shrilly, then came crashing back to earth, her black mane flying behind her. The onlookers watched with awe as the mare broke into a gallop, circling the ring at a fast pace. None of them had ever seen such a goregeus mare. She was a handful, and there was no surprise that the rough boy on her back fell.
She wanted him off her back. He had a crop and had hit her repeatedly when she had not gone over the jump. She backed away, and reared up in front of him, her legs thrashing. Soon, she tore away again, sailing over the jump that he originally pointed her at. She was a free spirit.
