Show Name: Tealver
Barn Name: n/a
Age: 5
Gender: Mare
Height: 17 hands
Breed:Freisian/shire mix
Riding Discipline(s): English, dressage
Physical Description: Starting from her body in general, Tealver has the form of both a great big 17 hand shire but it is sleek and smooth like that of a Friesian. Her main coat is a sleek black that under a light has a beautiful bluish tint, a tint that shows of her true black nature. Her mane and tail is long, reaching the ground in a beautiful veil of black. Her face is adorned with a white blaze, traveling down to her white muzzle, making her look like she dipped her muzzle in paint then tipped her head backwards. She has one beautiful brown eye and a beautiful blue watch eye, showing a strange look that is both elegant and beautiful. As if she was seeing into the eyes of both good and dark worlds. Working your way down her chest then down her muscular legs you find that she has beautiful, long white feathers. Then if you work your way back up you find that she has an un abused right setting back, not a back that curves but a straight one, just how her breed is supposed to have. Moving down to her high set tail you realize her love to keep it held high and proud, even if the hairs there drag just inches from the ground when she does so. When she runs you realize that she has been trained to lift up her hooves in the special trot of a dressage horse. But that is not all, you begin to realize that she holds her head high and curves it elegantly showing her proud nature. You realize that despite her calm nature she has a spark, a spark that shows both furry and beauty within her. When a saddle is thrown upon her back it may look small but that is when her true calling comes out with the beauty and grace of an Arabian. This beauty and care comes from long, hard years of training filled with a bit of abuse and patience, depending on the person training her. But there is one type of thing that makes her look less beautiful, the scar that marks right under the saddle across her left side. This scar is caused by an abusive trainer who smacked a whip upon her and caused her to run into a startling gallop, only to fall upon a shard of glass. Luckily the man was put away and she gained a new trainer.
Psychological Description: Tealver’s physiological expressions can range from calm to aggressive depending on the person handling her. Due to abuse if she has a rough hand put on her she will often grunt and all calmness will fade away in a split second. If she even senses a mean owner she will often bite or rear a warning to scare him off for she does not want to be caught in a pane of glass again. Other than that she has a kind demeanor, often respecting the handler or testing him depending on how new the handler was at his job. Just for fun she will race around the paddock and nikker at other horses she passes. Often enough she will practice her own dressage, when nervous, across the paddock, concentrating but not trying to show off. She enjoys the show she creates in front of the humans that have trained her or that are just there for the ‘show’. When she was disowned and sold she began to grow very depressed, yearning for an owner who would keep her for life, not sell her off again to another rider and another owner. Being depressed her game has dropped, the spark has disappeared and won’t return unless she has a permanent owner to love and care for. When that person comes she will be willing to hug, nikker, run along side the pasture fence, work her best at dressage, until then her work has dropped. Yet her training has still continued, at a slower pace, but it has continued as she is to be sold soon. This brings her new hope, but will her new owner be enough to lift her spirits? Or will he or she be an abusive owner to lower her spirits, causing a load of insecurity and anger. All knows what anger causes, it causes a horse to go mad, to be mean and listen less often depending on the horse. When this person comes she will be ready to mate with a stallion of that human’s choice, then bare a foal with a beautiful name to it.
History: Tealver’s past is littered with hard work and no love. Since she was just three she was ripped away from her mother’s side, sold, and pushed into hard training by her cold hearted owner. Most of the trainers were foolish, mean, and bad tempered with her, often whipping her and lashing legs to make her lift them higher when trotting or even walking. Angrily she began to retaliate until the day when her owner sold her to a kind tempered man. The man personally began to train her until he went bankrupt and had to sell her, another owner down on the notch. A new man who appeared nice one day took out his whip and lashed it across her side, scaring her into a sudden trot, this trot ended up causing her to trip and fall onto a pane of glass. The glass was only one of the many junk items collected around his whole farm yard. But if this wasn’t enough the man grew angry with her for falling and began to beat her daily. Soon she was sold when she snapped and reared up on the man, she was sold to a new man who had the glass removed and stitched up. The wound became infected and he nearly had to put her down, but he was to kind to do that. He kept up the treatment until one day she was nice and healthy. Seeing that she was a beautiful horse he began to ride her in dressage competitions, hiding the scar skillfully as he put her into the competition. The first round failed miserably for she was too afraid to even move. Slowly though he eased her out of her fear and began to put her into more and more competitions, as soon as she got the hang of it and began winning he sold her for a high price. This is when Tealver began to grow very depressed, while being put up for adoption yet again she just waited, the new spark gone from her eyes as she waited for her next loop of owners.
Example Post: Tealver’s hooves thundered from within the stall, her large neck arching then stretching as she awaited her turn to be sold, but would that turn come? Would the next owner sell her like the last few had? These questions she didn’t know, nor did she have half the mind to fulfill on her own. After all being bought and sold, beaten, and being put in dressage competitions was all she knew, what was she supposed to expect from her new owner or rider? Or how about, what was she supposed to expect from a man or woman who bought a Friesian/shire mix? Who would want to have to feed such a horse that took up so much hay a day!!! In her point of view she would make an average man go bankrupt, unless he suddenly became rich. Was that why she was being sold for ten thousand dollars? After all that was all its said on the placard next to the stall she was in.
With an almost angry expression she clunked a hoof on the door of the stall, wanting nothing more but to get out and exercise, not remain in perfect order until someone decided to buy her. She sniffed the bound of hay and grains in the bucket next to the water bucket. She chewed on the grains then began to drink heavily from the water bucket. When she was done with eating and drinking she tipped her head upward and whinnied out loud, wanting to attract some attention in the least. She backed up and bumped into the stall wall, feeling suddenly claustrophobic in this small space.
Hearing footsteps coming down the wall she moved and poked her head out the side of the stall, looking down the isle and watching another horse being sold. She whinnied again to attract the attention of the person but they seemed to ignore her. She snorted and huffed, clicking her hooves against the floor angrily.
